1/2 stick butter
1 medium onion grated or finely chopped
1 cup strong coffee
1 cup ketchup
1/2 cup Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. pepper
2 T. liquid smoke
1 cup honey, or maple syrup, or brown sugar
touch of hot sauce as desired
1/2 c brown sugar

Saute butter and onions till tender, add remaining ingredients and simmer at least 1/2 hour.
