1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened
4 cups powdered sugar
2/3 cup cocoa
2 Tbsp. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
Recipe of Fried Pie Pastry
Fried Pie Pastry:
4 cups flour
1 tsp salt
1 cup shortening
1 cup ice water

Directions:
Directions:
Cream together the cream cheese, powdered sugar and cocoa until well blended. Stir in the milk and vanilla until smooth. Place one heaping tablespoon of the cream cheese mixture on a 6-inch circle of prepared Fried Pie Pastry. Moisten edges of the pastry; fold pastry over the filling into a half-moon shape. Seal edges with the tines of a fork. Fry until golden brown in oil heated to 350. Drain on paper towel.
Fried Pie Pastry:
Combine flour and salt in a mixing bowl. Cut in shortening with pastry blender until resembles cornmeal. Sprinkle on the water a few tablespoons at a time, tossing mixture with a fork until mixture is moist enough to form a ball. Divide pastry into walnut-size balls. Roll each ball into a 6-inch circle. Place heaping tablespoon of filling on each circle of pastry. Moisten edges with water. Fold pastry over filling into a half-moon shape. Crimp edges together with the tines of a fork. Fry pies in 1/3 inch of melted shortening or oil until golden brown. Drain on paper towel.
