1 c hot water
1 cube butter
3 c sugar
Coloring, flavoring, if desired

Directions:
Directions:
Boil together butter & water. Add sugar & stir until dissolved. Turn heat to low, put lid on for 3 mins. Remove lid & turn on high heat.
Wash down grains. Put in thermometer. Cook to 250 degrees.
Pour on marble slab, add coloring & peppermint flavoring, if desired.
When cool enough to handle, stretch until stringy. Make into long rope and cut with scissors. (Work fast.)
Let stand on cookie sheet on waxed paper for 12 hours, then put into tightly covered container (Tupperware).
