Sweet and Sour Meatballs Recipe

1 1/2 lbs ground beef
2/3 cup cracker crumbs
1/3 cup minced onion
1 egg
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp ginger
1/4 cup milk


3 Tbsp cornstarch
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup vinegar
2 Tbsp soy sauce
1 can (13 1/2oz) of pineapple tidbits
2/3 cup chopped green pepper (opt)

Mix and shape into balls and brown in 1 Tbsp oil. Drain fat. Remove meatballs and keep warm. Mix cornstarch and brown sugar. Stir in vinegar, soy sauce, and juice from pineapple tidbits (add water to make total volume 1 1/2 cups). Cook over medium heat, stirring until thickened. Boil one minute. Add meatballs, pineapple and green pepper. Heat through. Serve over rice or rice casserole.
