1 c. raisins
3/4 c. water
2 c. flour
1 t. soda
1 t. salt
2 t. cinnamon
1/2 t. nutmeg
1 c. chopped nuts
1 c. shortening
1/2 c. sugar
1 c. brown sugar packed
2 c. quick-cooking oatmeal

Bring raisins and water to a boil. Simmer 5 minutes. Drain, reserve 5 T. liquid. Combine other ingredients and mix well. Add raisins and the 5 T. liquid.

Drop by teaspoons on greased cookie sheet. Bake 350 for 12 - 15 minutes.
