2 cups sugar, 1 cup cream or Half 'n Half, 2 Tbsp Cocoa, 2 Tbsp Karo syrup, 1 tsp hot water.

Directions:
Directions:
Mix sugar and cream in heavy pan bring to boil for 3 minutes stirring constantly. Add mixture of cocoa, Karo syrup,and 1 tsp hot water. Mix well. Continue to stir & cook to soft ball stage. (240 degrees) Remove from stove. Cool in sink with cold water. Add 1/2 cube butter, do not stir in until mixture is cool, just let the butter melt. When cool, add the vanilla & beat with large wooden spoon until it is a creamy chocolate color. Add nuts just before fudge is set and spoon onto wax paper. Hint: Mom always used a heavy pan.

This is mom's best ever fudge. We use to take turns beating the mixture. It does take some beating! This recipe always seemed to work for mom. There must be some sort of magic to it. I've only been able to get it to work for me once. Mom always made it for Christmas, it was the absolute best fudge, when she made it.
