7 lbs of sliced cucumbers
2 cups of lime
water and ice cubes
2 qrts vinegar
4 1/2 lbs sugar
1 Tbsp salt
1 tsp pickling spice
1 tsp celery seed
1 tsp whole cloves

Directions:
Directions:
Soak sliced cucumbers for 24 hours in 2 cups of lime and very cold water (enough to cover) (I add ice cubes to keep it cold enough).

Wash off pickles and soak for 3 hours in cold water. Remove from water and put in solution made from the rest of the ingredients. Mix cucumbers in solution and let stand for 2 hours. Bring it to a boil and boil slowly for 35 minutes. Can with the syrup to the top of the jar.
