2 cups brown sugar, 2 cups flour, 1/2 tsp., salt, 1 stick margarine, 1/2 cup of black walnuts,1 egg, 1 cup buttermilk, 1 tsp. of baking soda , 1 tsp. vanilla.

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 325.Mix up brown sugar, flour, salt, butter and walnuts. Should be crumbly. Set aside 1 cup of this mixture for the top of the cake. To the rest of the mixture add the egg, buttermilk, baking soda and vanilla. Mix together well. Place in pregreased sheet cake pan. Take saved cup of previous mixture and spread evenly over the top. Bake at 325 for 40 minutes or less. Cut into squares to serve.

Some of you may know that our mom, Jeannine Beauchamp Harmon, went to be with Jesus in October of 2008. This is one of the recipes she'd make for us for trips and picnics. I believe it may even have made an appearance or two at the reunion. Hope you enjoy.
