Directions:
Directions:
Grind cabbage in a grinder to make fine, about 2 heads of cabbage. 8 quarts of green tomatoes, sliced. Put 1 heaping cup salt and water to cover. Let set overnight. Drain. Grind tomatoes, 2 onions, and cabbage. Put 4 tablespoons white mustard seed, 4 tablespoons celery seed, 4 tablespoons pickling spice in a bag. Heat up this solution and add 1/2 gallon vinegar, 5 cups sugar, and spice bag. Boil all ingredients 1 hour, and seal while hot.

My grandmother used to make this, and we would add it to mayo and make tartar sauce for our fish. I don't can often, but this is one of those things I must have in my pantry.
