2 eggs
1/4 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
1 1/2 cups flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 (8oz) jar maraschino cherries
1 cup nuts, chopped

Directions:
Directions:
Drain cherries and save juice. Beat eggs, add sugar and mix well. Add the remaining dry ingredients. Beat mixture thoroughly; add cherry juice, shortening. By hand stir in cherries and nuts until just combined. Pour into well greased loaf pan. Bake at 350 for 45 minutes.
