3 c butter-flavored shortening
4 c sugar (plus extra for coating)
1 c molasses
4 eggs
8 c flour
1 tsp salt
3 tbsp baking soda
4 tsp cinnamon
4 tsp ginger
4 tsp cloves

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs and molasses then gradually add dry ingredients. Mix well. Roll small balls of dough in granulated sugar and place about 2 inches apart on a baking sheet. Bake at 350° for 10-12 minutes. Uncooked dough and baked cookies freeze well.
