1 c. cocoa
4 1/2 cups flour
2 c. sugar
1 c. shortening
2 tsp. soda
2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. vanilla
2 egg yolks
1 c. sour milk (1 c. milk w/ 1tsp. vinegar)
1 c. hot water

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening & sugar. Add egg yolks & vanilla. Add dry ingredients alternately with sour milk & hot water. Drop by spoonfuls onto baking sheet. Bake 375º for 10-12 minutes.

Filling:
2 egg whites, beaten stiff,
2 tsp. vanilla,
4 T. flour,
4 T. milk,
4 c. powdered sugar,
1 1/2 c. shortening,
Beat egg whites; gradually add remaining ingredients, beating thoroughly after each addition. Cover flat side of cookie with good amount of filling & put together with another cookie as a sandwich.
