1 red cabbage sliced
1 onion diced
1 large cooking apple
1 c. vinegar
1/2 c sugar
1 c water
4 pieces of bacon

Directions:
Directions:
In a large kettle, brown the bacon and reserve 4 tbsp of bacon drippings. Set bacon aside
Stir fry the cabbage, add the cooking apple peeled and cut up.

Add the vinegar, sugar and water, cover & simmer until cabbage is tender. About 1 hour.

Before serving you can add the bacon to the dish.
