"As viscous as motor oil swirled in a swamp, redolent of burnt bell peppers nested in by incontinent mice and a finish reminiscent of the dregs of a stale can of Coca-Cola that someone has been using as an ashtray. Not a bad drink, though."--Excerpt from "The Moose Turd Wine Tasting" by T. A. Nonymous
Peel potatoes. Wash and cut in pieces 2 1/2 inches long and 1/2 inch wide. Rinse in cold water and dry. Heat oil in deep fryer to 350º. Add potatoes and fry (in batches) until pale straw color. Drain on paper towel. When all of potatoes are cooked fry again in 350º oil until potatoes are golden brown. Keep potatoes warm in oven until ready to serve. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
