3/4 lb. lean ground beef
1/2 lb. ground veal
1/2 lb. ground pork
11/2 c. soft bread crumbs
1 c light cream or half and half
1/2 c chopped onion
1 T. butter
1 egg
1/4 c finely chopped parsley
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp ginger
Dash of pepper and nutmeg

Gravy:
2 T butter
2 tsp flour
3/4 c beef broth
1/4 c cold water
1/2 tsp instant coffee

Directions:
Directions:
Combine meats together. Soak bread in cream about 5 minutes. Cook onion in 1 T butter until tender and not brown. Combine meat, crumb mixture, egg, onion, parsley and seasonings. Beat vigorously with mixture on medium until fluffy (about 5 minutes). Form balls with wet hands to prevent sticking.
Melt 2 T butter in medium skillet, shaking pan occasionally to brown evenly. Remove from skillet reserving accumulated drippings. Stir flour into drippings. Brown flour briefly then add broth, water and coffee. Simmer and stir until gravy thickens. Return meatballs to the skillet with gravy; cover and cook on low for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
