½ cup shortening 2 cups flour 1 cup sugar 1 tsp. baking soda 2 eggs ½ tsp. baking powder 3 or 4 ripe bananas, crushed ¼ tsp. salt 2 Tbs. milk ¼ c nuts (optional)
Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs and beat. Add milk and dry ingredients. Mix in bananas. Add nuts. Place in greased bread pan and bake at 350 degrees for 50-60 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean. Let cool 5 minutes. Turn out of pan and cool completely before slicing.
