(2) cans of diced tomatoes
You can use the marinated ones with garlic, basil and oregano
(2) teaspoons of minced garlic
Olive Oil
(1) pkg of dried porcini mushrooms
You will need to soak for 20 - 30 minutes
Yields about a 1-1 1/2 cup of mushrooms
Fresh basil - chopped
2 cups of white dry wine (do not use pinots - too sweet)
Salt
Pepper
Crushed Red Pepper - to flavor
1 tablespoon Italian Seasoning

Coat pan with olive oil (about 3-4 tablespoons) and heat through with medium heat- add mince garlic - simmer 3-4 minutes until softened.

Add diced tomatoes, white wine, Italian seasoning, salt,pepper and red pepper.

Set heat to low-medium and simmer / reduce down the sauce to about a 1/3 of it's original.

Add the mushrooms and heat through.

Cook pasta noodles to just al dente and toss in to heat through.

This works great with wheat pasta. Use spaghetti noodles with this sauce since the sauce is thin.

Use the red pepper a little a time - let it simmer for a minute before adding more, if needed. The peppers needs to blend into the sauce.
