1 1/2 cup plus 2 Tbsp all-purpose flour
2 1/4 tsp baking powder
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp cinnamon
1 egg
1/2 cup milk
1/4 cup melted shortening
1 1/2 cup chopped tart apples
1 Tbsp soft butter

Directions:
Directions:
Sift 1 1/2 cups flour three times with baking powder, 1/2 cup sugar, salt and 1/2 tsp cinnamon. Beat egg; add milk and shortening. Pour all at once into dry ingredients. Add raw apples; mix well. Turn mixture out into a well-greased 8-inch square baking pan. Mix together remaining ingredients to make crumbly streusel topping; sprinkle over top of batter. Bake at 400 degrees about 30 minutes until both cake and apples are done.
