1 lb. lean ground beef
1 small onion, chopped
1 (16 oz) can tomato sauce
1 (16 oz) can green beans, drained
1 (10 oz) packed frozen peas and carrots, defrosted
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1/4 tsp leaf basil, crushed
1/4 tsp pepper
1 1/2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
4 cups mashed potatoes

Directions:

Crumble ground beef into a 3 qt. casserole. Add onion; mixing well. Cover with wax paper. Microwave 6 to 8 minutes; stirring halfway through cooking.

Add tomato sauce, vegetables, Worcestershire sauce, salt (if desired), basil and pepper mixing well. Cover with wax paper. Microwave 5 to 7 minutes; stirring halfway through cooking.

Sprinkle with 3/4 cup cheese. Top with mashed potatoes. Microwave 5 to 7 minutes; rotating dish one quarter turn halfway through cooking. Top with remaining 3/4 cup of cheese. Microwave 1 to 2 minutes to melt cheese.

Grandma always made this dish for shut in's. Church and family member's would come to pick them up from her, after she was no longer able to drive. She contributed dishes up to the time she went to Cook's Care Center. She was always a top notch volunteer!!
