1 1/2 cup hot water
1 cup oats
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup shortening
2 large eggs
1 1/3 cup flour
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 cup brown sugar
6 Tbsp. margarine
1/4 cup evaporated milk
1/2 cup coconut
1/2 cup pecans or walnuts

Mix together hot water and oats and let stand 20 minutes. Cream together brown sugar, sugar, shortening and eggs. Add flour, soda, cinnamon and salt. Add oats and beat well. Bake at 350 for about 35 minutes or until done.
For Frosting:
Mix all ingredients and spread on cooled cake. Place back in 350 oven until bubbly.
