2 lb pkg frozen hash browns
1/2 cup oleo (divided)
1 can cream of chicken soup
1 pint sour cream
chopped onion
salt and pepper to taste
6 to 10 ozs grated cheddar cheese
Bread crumbs
Bacon bits

Directions:
Directions:
Thaw potatoes for 45 minutes in large bowl. Add sour cream, soup and 1/4 cup of oleo. Melt remaining 1/4 cup oleo in long casserole dish. Add chopped onion and salt and pepper. Put loosely in dish. Bake 45 to 50 minutes at 350. Add cheese, bread crumbs and bacon bits for the last 10 to 15 minutes.
