8 c.. sifted flour
4 tsp. soda
1/2 t salt
1 T. ginger
10 T. boiling water
1 tsp. cinnamon
3 c. molasses or sorghum syrup
1 c. lard, melted
1/2 c. butter, melted

Directions:
Directions:
Measure 4 c. flour, soda, salt, and spices and sift together, set aside. In mixing bowl combine molasses, melted butter, melted lard, and boiling water. Add flour mixture and blend well. Add remaining 4 c. of plain flour. Break into 4 parts and let cool overnight. Roll parts out on floured board 1/4" thick. May sprinkle with sugar. Cut with large cutter and bake in 350 oven. Makes about 12 doz. 2" cookies.
