1 lb. ground beef or turkey
1 lb. ground sausage
1 (med.) onion, chopped
1/2 c. diced bell peppers
1 (4-oz.) can sliced mushrooms
2 (28-oz.) cans diced tomatoes, with juice
2 (6-oz.) cans tomato paste
2 (8-oz.) cans tomato sauce
2 bay leaves
5 garlic cloves, minced
4 tsp. dried oregano
1 1/2 tsp. salt
4 tsp. dried basil
1 T. sugar
1 tsp. dried thyme

Brown meats and onion in skillet then drain. Transfer to 4 quart crock pot. Add remaining ingredients and mix well. Cover and cook on low for 8 -10 hr. or high 4 - 5 hr. Serve over hot spaghetti noodles. Sauce freezes well.
