6 lg. apples (I use gravensteins) cored & cut into thin slices
1 c. whole cranberries (fresh or frozen)
1/4 c. maple syrup
1/4 c. white sugar
1 tbsp flour
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1/4 c. lemon juice

Crumble Topping:
1 c. rolled oats
1/3 c. flour
1/3 c. ground flax seed (optional)
1/2 c. brown sugar
3/4 tsp cinnamon
1/3 c. cold butter

Preheat oven to 350
Butter a 9x9 baking dish
Toss together all ingredients from the first half & pour into baking dish

Crumble topping:
Stir together dry ingredients for the crumble topping. Cut butter into mixture until mixture resembles coarse crumbs & butter pieces are about the size of a small pea. Sprinkle topping over fruit. Bake for 30 min or until mixture is bubbly.
