1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup sugar
3 cups sifted flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
1-1/2 cups buttermilk
1-1/2 cups raisins

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add flour sifted with soda, baking powder, salt and cream of tartar in thirds alternately with buttermilk, beating until smooth after each addition. Stir in raisins. Grease a 9x5x3 inch loaf pan. Add batter to pan. Bake at 350 for 1 hour and 20 minutes.
