1 lb. Raising
2 Cups Water
1/2 Cup shortening
1/1/2 Cups Sugar
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. allspice
1 tsp. cinnamon
3/4 tsp. salt
1 Tbsp. Baking Soda
1 Cup cold water
4 Cups flour

Directions:
Directions:
Bring water to boil and add raisins and let boil slowly for 15 minutes. Add raisins to next seven ingredients and stir. Then add 1 cup cold water and cool thoroughly and then add in 4 cups of flour.
Bake at 325 for 45 minutes to an hour. Cool and frost with Carmel Frosting
