Sour Cream Apple Pie Recipe

1 1/2 c. sour cream
1 egg
1 c. sugar
1/4 c. flour
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. salt
2 1/2 lbs. apples


1 c. butter
1 c. flour
2/3 c. sugar
2/3 c. brown sugar
2 TB. cinnamon
2 c. chopped walnuts

Prepare pie crust. Do not cook. Combine filling. Place in pie shell. Bake 15 min. @ 450 . Stir gently. Reduce heat to 350. Cook 35-40 min. more. Place topping on pie. Bake 15 min. more. (Bake on cookie sheet.) Use a deep dish pie crust and heap the apples on the pie.

I like lots of topping, so I double the recipe. Adjust to your desired taste.

This is from my friend, Calleen. She bakes it every Thanksgiving and it is always a hit. I don't usually like fruit pies, but this is an exception.
