Mrs. Zimowski's Strawberry Pie Recipe

Ingredients:  
4 cups strawberries
1 cup sugar
1 cup water
3 tablespoons cornstarch
1/4 teaspoon salt
red food coloring
pie shell

Directions:
Directions:
Bake pie shell. Cool. Simmer 1 cup smashed strawberries with 1 cup water for 3-4 minutes. Mix cornstarch, salt and sugar. Add to cooked portion. Cook until thick and clear. Stir whole time: 10 minutes. Add 3 cups strawberries and red food coloring. Coat, then put in pie shell. Chill overnight.

Mrs. Zimowski was the mother of Carol's high school sweetheart. Mom used to make this pie from the strawberries we picked at Owen's Potato Farm in Newark.
