1 pkg. dry yeast
1 1/2 c. lukewarm water
1 tsp. salt
1 T. sugar
4 c. all-purpose flour
1 egg, beaten

Directions:
Directions:
Dissolve yeast in water; add salt, sugar and flour. Knead 5 to 10 min., adding more flour as necessary to reduce stickiness. Divide dough into 12 pieces. Twist dough into the traditionally shape of pretzels, or as cars, airplanes, flowers, letters, numbers or gingerbread men. Brush with beaten egg. Bake at 425 F for 15 min., or until lightly browned.

Amy is the wife of John Hollenshead and the daughter-in-law of Jerry and Barbara (Chandler) Hollenshead. My family would make pretzels from time to time, especially for school events, or while friends were over - very fun!
