"When I'm at a Chinese restaurant having a hard time with chopsticks, I always hope that there's a Chinese kid at an American restaurant somewhere who's struggling mightily with a fork."--Rick Budinich
This recipe for Sourkraut Casserole, by Tamara Wolff, is from The ASC Family Cookbook Project,
one of the cookbooks created at FamilyCookbookProject.com. We help
families or individuals create heirloom cookbook treasures.
1 1/2 pounds hamburger or ground chuck, browned. Put half of this in a small roaster. Cook about 4 handfuls of noodles and put over hamburger. Put 1 can drained saurkraut over noodles. Add rest of hamburger over saurkraut. Pour 2 cups tomato juice over top.
Cover and bake at 350 for about 15 minutes. Then uncover and bake another 30 to 45 minutes. Optional toppings-buttered bread crumbs last 10 minutes, or grated cheese. (I don't top with anything extra)
