1 cup oatmeal
1 1/2 cups boiling water--add to oatmeal and allow to cool
1 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup Crisco shortening
2 eggs
1 1/2 cups flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 cup chopped nuts
1 cup chocolate chips
Topping ingredients follows;
1/2 cup chopped nuts
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/3 cup sugar
few extra chocolate chips

Directions:
Directions:
Cream sugar, brown sugar, shortening and eggs and then add the cooled oatmeal mixture. To this add the flour, salt, soda, baking powder, cinnamon, nuts, and chocolate chips. Mix. Pour into 9x13 greased and floured pan. Mix topping ingredients: nuts, cinnamon, sugar and sprinkle over dough. Sprinkle a few additional chocolate chips over top. Bake 350 for 35 minutes.
