2 cups chopped onion
1 ½ cups thinly sliced celery
¼ cup butter
1 tbsp sage, crumbled
½ teaspoon marjoram, crumbled
½ teaspoon each of salt and fresh ground pepper
¼ teaspoon each of savory and thyme
12 cups of bread cubes, lightly toasted
¼ cup chopped fresh parsley
1 ½ cups chicken stock
salt & pepper to taste

Variations:
Toast 2 ½ cups of slivered or sliced almonds in a bit of butter in a frying pan and add to the bread mixture before spooning into the slow cooker.
As the turkey is roasting, draw turkey juices from the pan and pour into the slow cooker to add more turkey flavor to the stuffing.

In a large frypan, sauté onions and celery in butter until tender. Stir in spices, salt and pepper. Combine vegetable mixture with bread cubes and parsley. Pour stock over bread mixture and toss to combine. Spoon mixture into slow cooker.
Cover and cook on high setting for 1 hour. Reduce to low setting and continue cooking for 2 to 3 hours, stirring every hour.
