Ingredients:  
1 c. dark brown sugar
3 heaping T. cornstarch
2 large eggs. separated
dash of salt
2 c. half and half
vanilla to taste

Directions:
Directions:
Mix sugar and cornstarch in heavy saucepan. Add enough half and half to dampen. Add egg yolks and mix well. Add rest of half and half. Mix. Cook until thick. Put in baked pie shell and top with egg whites beaten with 4 tablespoons of sugar. Bake at 400 until top of meringue is slightly brown.
