Ingredients:
2 large onions, sliced
3 eggs
¼ to ½ pound of sharp cheddar cheese, grated
6 slices of buttered bread, halved
1 ½ cups of milk
Salt & pepper

Directions:
Directions:
Saute onions in butter ‘til transparent. Make layers, alternating onions and bread in about a 2 quart casserole dish. Add salt & pepper to each layer. Beat eggs and add milk. Pour over layers, sprinkle with cheese. Bake @ 350 F for about 45 minutes. Serves 6.

Note: I used 5 eggs, 1 ¾ cup milk and 8 slices of bread to extend the quantity. I also used 4 medium sweet onions instead of 2 large.
