2 c. sifted flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. soda
1/3 c. shortening
3/4 c. buttermilk

Directions:
Directions:
Sift together in mixing bowl: flour, baking powder, salt, and soda. Cut in shortening. Mix until mixture resembles coarse meal. Add buttermilk. Mix only until all flour is dampened. Turn out on lightly floured board and knead 1/2 minute. Roll out to 1/2 " thickness and cut with floured cutter. Place on greased baking sheet.

Bake at 450 for 12 to 15 minutes. Makes 15 biscuits.
