"I have long believed that good food, good eating is all about risk. Whether we're talking about unpasteurized Stilton, raw oysters or working for organized crime 'associates,' food, for me, has always been an adventure."--Anthony Bourdain

This recipe for German Chocolate Cake Coconut-Pecan Frosting, by Karen Cook, is from 'Cooking With Harmony' 2nd Edition,
one of the cookbooks created at FamilyCookbookProject.com. We help
families or individuals create heirloom cookbook treasures.
1 cup evaporated milk 1 cup white sugar 3 egg yolks 1/2 cup butter or margarine 1 tsp. vanilla 1 1/3 cups shredded coconut 1 cup chopped pecans Pecan halves for garnish German Chocolate Cake (cooled)
Cook and stir in a heavy saucepan over low to medium heat until thickened (about 10 - 12 minutes). Mixture will thicken, but should not be cooked until dry. Remove from heat. Beat mixture until thickened and cool enough to spread on a prepared German Chocolate Cake. Use pecan halves for garnish.
This tastes so much better than canned frosting that it is worth the extra effort!
