1 cup butter, softened
1 & 1/2 cups sugar
3 -1 oz. squares unsweetened chocolate, melted and cooled
2 tsp. vanilla
4 eggs
1 9 inch pie shell
freshly whipped cream

Directions:
Directions:
Beat butter and sugar until smooth, fluffy, and pale. Blend in the chocolate and vanilla. Beat in eggs one at a time at medium speed, taking 5 minutes for each egg. Turn into shell and chill. Top with fresh whipped cream.

This pie is a favorite for dinner parties. It's great to make when you're doing lots in the kitchen because you can throw in an egg and do something else while it beats for 5 minutes each. I've served the pie in mini frozen phyllo shells for cocktail parties.
