1/2 cup butter
1 cup boiling water
1 cup flour
1/4 tsp. salt
4 eggs

Directions:
Directions:
Add the butter to the boiling water in heavy kettle. After butter is melted, add the flour and salt all at once. Cook stirring vigorously until mixture forms a soft ball that does not separate and leaves the side of the pan. Remove from heat and when nearly cool add 4 eggs one at a time. Beat thoroughly after each egg is added until mixture is smooth.The batter will handle easier if left to stand covered for 30 minutes. Drop by spoonfuls onto greased pan leaving room to rise. Bake in hot oven 425 degrees about 15 minutes. Reduce heat to 325 degrees and bake about 25 minutes. They will feel dry and crisp when done. When cooled, split and fill with pudding or whipped cream. May top with sifted powdered sugar or chocolate sauce.
