4 c tomatoes (8-10 peeled and chopped or canned whole tomatoes with liquid)
4 c tomato juice
12-14 fresh basil leaves
1 c heavy cream
1/4 lb sweet unsalted butter
1/2 tsp cracked black pepper
Salt to taste
French bread, optional

Directions:
Directions:
Combine tomatoes and juice in large saucepan. Simmer 30 min. Puree tomato mixture with basil leaves in small batches (works well in blender). Return to saucepan and add cream and butter while stirring over low heat. Serve with French bread.
