1/2 cup butter or margarine
1/2 cup shortening
1 1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup molasses
2 eggs
4 cup flour
1/2 tsp. salt
2 1/2 tsp. soda
2 1/4 tsp. ginger
1 1/2 tsp. cloves
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon

Cream shortening, butter and sugar. Beat in molasses and eggs. Add salt, soda and spices. Mix in flour. Roll dough into walnut size balls. Roll in granulated sugar. Put on cookie sheets and bake 11 minutes at 350. Don't over bake.
