1 c. sugar
4 tbsp. cornstarch
dash of salt
1 c. milk
3 eggs, separated
4 tbsp. butter
1 tsp. shredded lemon peel
1/4 c. lemon juice
1 c. sour cream
1 tbsp. water
1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
1/2 tbsp. vanilla
1 tbsp. corn starch
6 tbsp. sugar

Combine 1 c. sugar, 4 tbsp. cornstarch and dash of salt. Slowly stir in 1 c. milk. Cook and stir until mixture is boiling and thick. Blend small amount of mixture into 3 slightly beaten egg yolks. Return to hot mixture, cook and stir 2 minutes. Add 4 tbsp. butter, lemon peel, and lemon juice. Cover and cool. Fold in 1 c. sour cream. Spoon into baked 9" pastry shell.

Beat 3 egg whites, 1 tbsp. water, 1/4 tsp. cream of tartar, 1/2 tbsp. vanilla. Add 1 tbsp. cornstarch, 6 tbsp. sugar. Beat until soft peaks form. Put on pie. Bake at 350 for 15 minutes or until golden brown.
