2 egg whites 5 tbsp. water 1 tsp. white syrup 1 tsp. vanilla 1 1/2 cup brown sugar
Combine egg whites, brown sugar, water and syrup in top of double boiler and mix thoroughly. Place over rapidly boiling water and beat constantly with rotary egg beater until mixture holds up in peaks (about 7 minutes). Remove from heat, add vanilla and beat until cool and thick enough to spread. Enough to cover top and sides of 2 layer cake.
