1 stick margarine or butter
1 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 egg
1 cup flour
1 tsp. baking powder
pinch of salt
1 6 ounce package of chocolate chips
1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Directions:
Directions:
Melt margarine or butter. Add sugar and stir thoroughly. Wait five minutes. Add egg and vanilla. sift in dry ingredients. Add chocolate chips and nuts. Bake in a 9 x 9 pan in a 350º oven for 30 minutes. Allow to cool completely and cut into squares like brownies.
