Ingredients:  
1 cup butter (no substitutes), softened
1 1/2 cups almond paste (10 oz)
1 3/4 cups sugar
2 eggs
1/2 tsp salt
2 cups flour
1/2 cup slivered almonds (2.5 oz pkg)

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 300. Cream together butter and almond paste. Beat in sugar and eggs. Add flour and salt. Pour into greased 9X13 pan. Dough will be stiff and slightly sticky. Pat down and even out with fingers. Sprinkle with slivered almonds and gently press into dough. Bake 40 minutes. Test for doneness with toothpick. When cool, cut into bars.
