2 c. flour 1 1/2 c. sugar 1 1/2 tsp. baking soda 3 Tbsp. cocoa 1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon 3/4 tsp. cloves 1 tsp. salt 1/2 c. butter 2 c. applesauce 2 eggs 2 Tbsp. brown sugar 1/2 c. chopped walnuts 1/2 c. semisweet chocolate chips
Stir together the flour, sugar, baking soda, cocoa, cinnamon, cloves and salt. Add to dry ingredients; butter, applesauce and eggs. Beat until smooth. Pour batter into a greased and floured 9 x 13 pan. Sprinkle the top of batter with brown sugar, walnuts and chocolate chips. Bake at 350º for 30 - 35 minutes.
