1 lb hamburger, 1 large onion, 2 c. water, 12 oz tomato paste, 1 garlic clove, 2 lg. bay leave, 3 T. chili powder, 1 T. cumin, 2 tsp. allspice, 1 tsp. salt, pepper, 1/4 tsp red pepper, 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce, cheddar cheese for topping

Brown hamburger and drain, add remaining ingredients, bring to a boil and simmer or 40 minutes. Add cheese for topping if desired.
