Ingredients:
Ingredients:
6 oz. semi-sweet chocolate chips (1 c.)
1/3 c. evaporated milk
1.25 c. sifted powdered sugar
1/3 c. cut-up nuts
1/4 c. chopped maraschino cherries, well-drained
1.5 c. coconut

Directions:
Directions:
Stir chocolate chips and evaporated milk in a heavy 2 qt. sauce pan over very low heat until chocolate melts. Remove from heat. Stir in until well mixed powdered sugar, nuts, and cherries. Chill until mixture is cool enough to handle. Roll teaspoons of mixture in palms of hands to form balls, then roll in coconut. Chill until firm, about 4 hours, and keep cool. (You may roll them in finely chopped nuts instead of coconut if desired.)

*Tips for melting chocolate: A teflon pan on very low heat works well. Or use a microwave on medium setting, stirring after 1 minute, and continuing to set and stir each minute until melted. Be careful not to allow steam or condensation to get into chocolate. Do not put a lid on it. Do not overcook.
