1 16oz. loaf French bread (stale is fine)
8 oz. cream cheese
12 eggs
2 c. milk
4 tbsp. butter
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Warm cream cheese and smooth evenly onto bottom of 9X13 pan. Tear or cut bread into bite-sized pieces and put into pan.

In large bowl, beat eggs and 1 1/2 c. milk.

In small separate bowl, melt butter with sugar (microwave for about 30 sec), then add 1/2 c. milk, baking soda and vanilla and microwave 30 more seconds and stir until dissolved. Blend into larger bowl.

Pour mixture over pan with bread, making sure all the bread gets soaked, and cover overnight.

In the morning, bake uncovered at 350 for 40 minutes. Serve with syrup, powdered sugar, berries, whipped topping, or all of the above (yummy!)
