1/2 butter or margarine, 1 c. sugar, 2 eggs, 1 tsp. salt, 1 tsp. almond flavoring, 1/2 c.vegetable shortening, 1 tsp. vanilla, 2 c. flour, 1/2 c chopped walnuts, 1 can cherry pie filling

Directions:

Mix thoroughly the first 8 ingredients. Spread 3/4ths of the batter in the bottom of a ungreased 9 x 13 inch pan. Stir flavoring into cherry pie filling and spread over batter. Dot the remaining batter over the cherry pie filling and bake 350 for 45 minutes. Cool and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
