1/2 cup margarine
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
3 mashed (very ripe) bananas
2 cups sifted flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 cup nut meats
1/4 cup chocolate chips
1/4 cup, cut finely, maraschino cherries

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour one loaf pan.
Cream together the margarine and sugar. Add the other ingredients carefully. By hand, add the nuts, chips, and cherries, just enough to mix. Bake for 60-70 minutes or until done.

Personal Notes:
My mother would make this recipe when the bananas were black, for a sweeter, moister bread. We would bake this in 3-4 #303 empty vegetable cans, which would allow us to give them to friends or at holiday as gifts. My students love this!
